Authorities raid hotel where Liam Payne died: report

The Buenos Aires hotel where Liam Payne died was raided Wednesday as part of a probe into the 31-year-old pop star’s shocking death a week earlier.
CasaSur Hotel “must provide” additional security camera following the One Direction alum’s fatal fall from one of its third-story balconies on Oct. 16, sources close to Buenos Aires City Police’s probe told Us Weekly.
The raid occurred just days after insiders told People an indictment could be on the horizon for those who worked at CasaSur, as “there appears to be evidence that a hotel employee sourced the drugs” found in Payne’s system.
Payne, who is believed to have “jumped from the balcony of his room,” suffered multiple traumatic injuries resulting in internal and external bleeding, according to a preliminary autopsy.
A toxicology report found the singer had several controlled substances in his system, including cocaine, benzodiazepine, crack and “pink cocaine” — a combination of multiple recreational drugs.
It was previously believed that Payne, who had spoken openly about his substance abuse in the past, had ingested a substance known as “Cristal,” which has hallucinogenic properties and can cause a user to become aggressive and erratic.
In the moments leading up to Payne’s death, a hotel receptionist contacted emergency services requesting assistance for a guest who was “trashing” the room and believed to be “high on drugs.” The employee added that he feared for the guest’s safety, given the balcony in the room.
Though Payne told fans in July 2023 that he had been sober for nearly six months, he reportedly checked into a rehab center this summer, leaving a 30-day program after mere days.
